The Specimen Processor is responsible for independently drawing, registering, and processing specimens from patients of all age groups. This includes delivering results and transporting samples to approved reference laboratories while traveling to various facilities.
Candidates must have a high school diploma and at least five years of phlebotomy experience, specifically with geriatric patients. A current BLS certification and a valid driver's license are required.
High school diploma or equivalent A certificate in Phlebotomy from an accredited phlebotomy course or Certified Office Laboratory Technician, or Patient Care Technician (PCT) is preferred. On the job training is also acceptable. Must have (5) five years of phlebotomy experience, with experience in geriatric specimen collection. Must hold a current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross. Recertification required before expiration throughout employment. Valid Driver's License required. This position may require a Motor Vehicle Driving Record Background Check to be completed during the onboarding new hire process and throughout employment.
