High Desert Medical Group is seeking a full time Licensed Vocational Nurse to work in our Senior Wellness Center.
Candidate will be responsible for vital signs, EKGs, spirometry, Dexa Scan, Quantaflow screening, blood draws, injections, patient education, assisting providers with procedures, following clinical guidelines, and rooming and discharging patients.
The individual will be cross trained in both front and back-office processes including answering phones, scheduling appointments, and verifying eligibility.
Ability to travel to local provider offices in the Antelope Valley required.

Summary of Duties
Escort patients to exam rooms and obtain complete and accurate screenings, vital signs and history as it pertains to Wellness, Behavior Health, and other clinical areas.
Document all pertinent information in patient's charts.
Participate, assist, and perform procedures ordered by the provider that is within the Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) scope of practice.
Maintain timely patient flow and room availability.
Maintain patient safety and confidentiality.
Reinforce patient education and participate in patient education.
Participate in unit duties, such as stocking and maintain exam rooms, nursing stations, and individual workstation by keeping a clean and consistent area.
Maintain current, accurate documentation, and maintain patient tickler files as appropriate.
Maintain and monitor all equipment used for patient care and testing, including calibration of equipment and reporting discrepancies to leadership.
Assist with training and orientation of new personnel.
Assist with coverage of front office duties as assigned.
Actively participate in nursing huddles and meetings by identifying problems, providing solutions and evaluating outcomes.
Ensure appropriate handling and accurate documentation of all medications and vaccines ordered by the provider.
Remain competent with all aspects of patient care provided in each department, thus being able to float to all departments as needed.

Answer department phones in a courteous and timely manner.
Be knowledgeable of referral system and ensure accurate and timely follow-through with all referral reports and referrals generated.
Initiate and appropriately participate in a Code White, Code Blue, Code Red, and Code Grey within the guidelines of scope of practice.
Complete monthly inspection and maintenance of department crash cart.
Perform other duties as assigned, including but not limited to local travel to affiliated IPA offices, medical facilities, and patient home visits as it pertains to the job.
Position hours are
Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm.
The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $29.00 and $38.67/hour, non-exempt; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Qualifications
High school graduate or equivalent.
Graduate from an accredited Vocational Nursing school.
Current CA LVN license.
IV/Phlebotomy certificate.
Current CPR/BLS certification preferred.
One year of acute clinic/hospital experience preferred.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to handle and prioritize tasks in order to meet all given deadlines and productivity goals.
