06/20/2026 Senior Licensed Practical Nurse Open Competitive This is a float position, and the successful incumbent will work with clients in busy DOH clinics, while working within the scope of Florida State and Federal Guidelines and DOH- Pinellas policies and procedures. Applicants must be willing to travel to five different clinic locations in Pinellas County. Your Specific Responsibilities:
Adult and children’s immunizations Obtain patient medical history and vital signs Case Management Administer medication ordered by the provider Educates and provide information regarding family planning, STD screening and treatment services Respond with other clinical staff to emergency situations that occur in clinic Work with clinic manager to assure efficient clinic flow Utilize an EMR to document client visits Perform EKG’s, Spirometry, and other medical office tests Performs other duties as required Keeps supervisor informed Attends staff meetings as required Attends training for personal and professional growth Meets annual training requirements
Knowledge of nursing and public health principles, practices & techniques. Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate work assignments Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing, utilizing approved DOH abbreviations when documenting in the electronic medical record Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others Ability to operate a personal computer and accompanying software programs Ability to safely administer medications and immunizations within scope of nursing licensure Ability to work with persons of a different race, language, culture, or socioeconomic status Ability to make sound nursing judgments independently Ability to adapt to necessary changes in duties, duty station, or work hours for the benefit of the agency Ability to deal effectively with customers of various types of backgrounds and cultures. Ability to learn and maintain proficiency of computer skills & new programs required by Medical and Clinical Services divisions Skills in one-on-one interviewing; ability to maintain accurate and appropriate medical documentation in EMR system
Qualifications: Minimum -
Current active Florida nursing license or a multistate license from another compact state per The Florida Nurse Practice Act, as outlined in Chapter 464 Current valid Florida Driver’s License or able to obtain one within 30 days of employment Access to private transportation and willing to travel to other locations and provide coverage as needed At least 1 year EMR experience
Preferred -
1 year experience working in a fast-paced medical office. Six months’ experience working in a Primary Care clinic Six months’ experience giving adult and children’s immunizations At least 1 year experience working as an LPN
