Perform diagnostic X-ray procedures and maintain high-quality imaging standards to support patient evaluation in an orthopedic setting. Provide additional clinical support, including patient rooming and vital signs, to ensure efficient practice operations.
Candidates must hold a current ARRT Certification and state radiologic technologist licensure where applicable. Previous experience in an orthopedic practice and knowledge of EHR systems are preferred.
The X-Ray Technician is responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures ordered by physicians and advanced practice providers to support accurate patient evaluation and treatment within an orthopedic practice setting. This role works closely with providers, clinical staff, and patients to ensure high-quality imaging, efficient patient flow, and a positive patient experience. In addition to performing X-rays, the X-Ray Technician may assist physicians and clinical staff with patient care and clinical support duties when needed, particularly in situations where Certified Medical Assistants are unavailable. Perform diagnostic X-ray procedures as ordered by physicians and advanced practice providers. Prepare patients for imaging procedures by explaining the process, positioning patients properly, and ensuring patient comfort and safety. Produce high-quality diagnostic images while following established imaging protocols and radiation safety standards. Maintain accurate patient records and documentation within the electronic medical record (EHR) and imaging systems. Ensure imaging equipment is maintained, cleaned, and functioning properly. Follow all OSHA, HIPAA, infection control, and radiation safety guidelines and requirements. Coordinate with physicians and clinical staff to support efficient patient flow and timely patient care. Assist providers and clinical staff with patient rooming, basic clinical support, vital signs, patient intake, and other clinical tasks when needed. Help maintain exam rooms and clinical areas to ensure cleanliness, organization, and proper supply levels. Support scheduling, coordination, and patient communication related to imaging services as needed. Promote a professional, compassionate, and patient-focused environment at all times. Perform additional clinical or operational duties as assigned. Required Qualifications: Current ARRT Certification required. Current state radiologic technologist licensure, if applicable. Previous experience in an orthopedic or physician practice setting preferred. Working knowledge of medical imaging procedures, anatomy, medical terminology, and EHR systems. Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Knowledge of OSHA, HIPAA, infection control, and radiation safety requirements. License/Certification: ARRT Certification required.
