The Pharmacy Technician safely provides medication distribution and performs technical support functions under pharmacist supervision. Responsibilities include preparing parenteral admixtures, packaging, and charging medications.
Candidates must be licensed with the MS Board of Pharmacy and hold a PTCB or CPT board certification. The role requires the ability to rotate between day, evening, and weekend shifts.
Pharmacy Technician (licensed with MS Board of Pharmacy: PTCB/Ex CPT Board Certified.)
Under general supervision of the Director of Pharmacy and direct supervision of the Pharmacy Operations Coordinator and daily supervision by Staff Pharmacists, uses the pharmaceutical services process to safely provide medication distribution. Performs a variety of functions, which involve demonstration of proficient clerical skills, accurate information management/data entry, obtaining supplies, and performing technical support functions. The Pharmacy Technician assists the pharmacists in providing pharmaceutical services to patients including the preparation of parenteral admixtures, packaging, distributing, and charging medications. As determined by the Director of Pharmacy, the pharmacy technician will be assigned up to 80 hours per pay period and will rotate between day, evening, and weekend shifts.
