The technician is responsible for collecting, cleaning, and sterilizing surgical instruments and medical equipment to ensure a sterile supply. Additionally, they assist with patient intake, including taking vital signs, radiographs, and managing post-operative instructions.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent and a valid X-Ray Certification. Proficiency in English communication and the ability to comply with OSHA infection control policies are required.
Description The primary purpose of the Sterile Processing Technician is to collect, clean, decontaminate, disinfect and/or sterilize surgical instruments, trays and packs, reusable medical devices and patient care equipment according to established standards and procedures to ensure sterile and functioning supply of materials and equipment. Facilitates services including blood pressure, radiographs, charting all medical health histories and seeing post-operative appointments.
