Consults other departments as appropriate to provide for and interdisciplinary approach to the patient's needs. Attends patient care rounds. Documentation Proficient in computer systems for data entry charges/credits. Maintains patient records as per department guidelines. Enters patient charges/credits as directed with specified time frame. Point of care documentation. Quality Adheres to aseptic technique and universal precautions. Considers patient safety, age, cultural; psychosocial/physical needs of patients and families when providing care. Provides explanation to patient and family prior to administering care and answers questions. Perform and adheres to department established patient care assessment and / or patient driven protocol. Identifies inappropriate care and follows through with appropriate recommendations. Participates in orientation of new staff / students. Time Management Completes delegated duties within timeframes or reports to the appropriate healthcare team member when unable to complete assignment. Accepts additional assignments willingly. Demonstrates ability to adapt to changing work loads with adherence to all department rules and guidelines of care. (Answering pages timely) Demonstrates ability to organize, prioritize and complete assignment in timely manner including taking breaks / lunch. Provides Respiratory Care in all assigned areas and provides cross coverage when needed. Other Duties May include with but is not limited to: General floor care and floor ventilators, adult critical intensive care, emergency department, Rapid Response Team member, assisting with bronchoscopy, bedside pulmonary function testing, arterial blood gas sampling, analysis and documentation or other diagnostic testing.
