The CNA provides basic safe care to patients, including monitoring vital signs and assisting with daily living activities. They are also responsible for specimen collection, patient observation, and maintaining accurate patient charts.
Candidates must be a Certified Nurses Assistant (CNA) with American Heart Association BLS certification. A high school diploma and 6 months of clinical healthcare experience are preferred.
The CNA provides appropriate safe basic care to patients which includes taking vital signs, assisting patients with activities of daily living, specimen collection, and observation of patients for physical/emotional changes. Other duties include recording pertinent information in patient charts, communicating with other Patient Care Team members to ensure continuity of care, and may function in a role providing constant supervision to patients as needed. Duties may vary according to department expectations and needs. This position requires floating to various departments within the medical center.
