Job description

Key Responsibilities • Patient Monitoring

Assess, observe, and continuously monitor post-anesthesia patients, closely tracking vital signs and levels of consciousness.
Airway
Management: Ensure patient airway patency and assess for any immediate post-operative complications.
Pain
Management: Administer prescribed medications and execute comfort measures for effective pain management and nausea control.
Collaboration: Partner closely with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and the broader healthcare team to coordinate seamless patient care.
Discharge &
Education: Educate patients and their families regarding post-surgery recovery and at-home care instructions.

Qualifications

Education: Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing program; BSN preferred.
License/Certification: Active, valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Virginia.
Certifications Required: BLS required within 90 days of hire; ACLS and PALS must be obtained prior to completion of orientation.
Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of RN experience required, with prior critical care or PACU hospital experience.
