Must complete an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program and hold a CNMT or equivalent certification. Experience operating nuclear medicine imaging equipment and performing diagnostic procedures is required.
The Nuclear Medicine Technologist plays a critical role in the healthcare team by performing specialized imaging procedures that utilize radioactive materials to diagnose and treat various medical conditions. The technologist must adhere strictly to radiation safety protocols to protect patients, staff, and themselves from unnecessary exposure. Additionally, the role involves maintaining detailed patient records, calibrating and troubleshooting imaging equipment, and collaborating closely with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care. Ultimately, the Nuclear Medicine Technologist contributes to improved patient outcomes through precise imaging and adherence to best practices in nuclear medicine.
