Decontaminates and reprocesses all in-house sterile supplies to ensure quality patient care. Responsible for issuing, tracking, maintaining, and transporting various types of patient care equipment.
Requires a High School Diploma and CRCST certification or the ability to obtain it within 18 months of hire. Candidates must complete annual continuing education and pass required HR clearances.

Required: CRCST required High School Diploma or equivalent.
Effective December 28, 2020 for newly hired Central Sterile Processing (CSP) Techs:*
Must pass a nationally accredited central service exam for CRCST and maintain certification CSP technicians will have 18 months from date of hire to pass a nationally accredited central service exam, Must complete 10 hours of continuing education annually.
Successful completion of applicable clearances as outlined in Human Resources policy HR-106 within 90 days of commencing employment.
*CSP Techs employed as central service technicians prior to the effective date of Act 80 (12/28/2020) are exempt from certification requirements.
