Provide safe personal care and support for terminally ill patients in an inpatient hospice facility. Responsibilities include assisting with hygiene, monitoring vital signs, and collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to ensure holistic patient care.
Requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid CNA license, and current CPR certification. Candidates must have at least six months of CNA/HHA experience in a healthcare setting or be an RN student with an active CNA license.

Compensation is based on total years of experience in previous clinical roles.
In this role, you'll care for patients in the Inpatient Unit located in Fort Wayne.
You will be working 24 hours each week, Monday through Friday, with Weekend rotations.
Position Title: Inpatient certified nurses aide
Flsa status: Non-Exempt
Reports to: Assistant Clinical Team Leader or Clinical Team Leader
To provide safe personal care and support for the terminally ill in the hospice facility, under the direction of the Patient Care Director and/or RN Case Manager.
1. Gives client care per agency policies and procedures, following the written Plan of Care. 2. Appropriate and safe techniques in personal hygiene and grooming that include: bed bath, sponge bath, tub bath, or shower bath.
sink, tub, or bed. Nail and skin care. Oral hygiene. Toileting and elimination needs, emptying commode and catheter bag; empty, cleanse, and reinforce ostomy bag. Normal range of motion and positioning, ambulating with use of a gait belt. Changing linens, adequate nutrition, fluid intake, and output. 3. Assists patients with various rehabilitation activities under the direction of a licensed therapist or RN. 4. Takes and records temperature, pulse, respirations, and blood pressure when assigned. 5. Meal preparations. 6. Assists patients with feeding and feeds patients unable to feed themselves. 7. Observes patient’s condition and reports significant changes in status to the appropriate nurse. 8. Computer documents care per agency policies and procedures. 9. Manages care of assigned patients in a timely fashion. 10. Maintains a clean, safe, and healthy environment in the patient care area. 11. As a member of the interdisciplinary team, participates in patient care conferences as assigned to promote holistic care. 12. CNA/Home Health Aide will maintain good personal hygiene and conduct themselves in a polite and professional manner. 13. CNA/Home Health Aides must maintain a therapeutic relationship with patients. This includes confidentiality of personal matters as well as patients’, coworkers’, and Agency business. Maintains respect for the patient's privacy and property. 14. Attends educational opportunities and in-services in accordance with agency guidelines to improve clinical practice. 15. Must be willing to be cross-trained in other departments within the agency. 16. Any other duties assigned by the supervisor. 17. Adheres to all Stillwater Hospice policies. 18. Adheres to Stillwater Hospice’s dress code policy. 19. Adheres to Stillwater Hospice privacy practices as described in the Notice of Privacy Practices. 20. Participates in quality improvement activities and/or other agency committees or task forces when requested.

Constant. 18. Must be able to climb a minimum of three (3) flights of stairs. 19. Recognizes emergencies and has knowledge of emergency procedures according to agency policy. 20. Must have the ability to remain calm in occasional emergency situations.
1. Potential exposure to chemical/cleaning substances within the facility.
1. Standard precautions will be consistently used for patients. Protective clothing and equipment are provided by the employer at no cost to the employee. 2. Seat belts must be worn when traveling during working hours according to state law.
1. Must be willing to accept assignments without regard to disease or ethnic origin. 2. Must exhibit dependability in areas such as attendance, tardiness, and flexibility for unit coverage. 3. Must be willing to work the scheduled holiday rotation.
The published compensation range for this position reflects a good-faith estimate of starting base pay for full-time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The base pay may be higher or lower based on demonstrated job-related experience.
