The Spine Coordinator manages the patient journey for spine conditions by acting as a liaison between patients, providers, and external facilities. Key duties include scheduling, handling insurance authorizations, managing EMR records, and guiding patients through the surgical process.
Candidates must be a current LPN or CMA with a high school diploma or equivalent and experience in medical records or billing. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to handle clinical coordination and insurance eligibility is required.
The Spine Coordinator manages patient journeys for spine conditions, acting as a liaison between patients, providers, and external facilities, handling scheduling, care coordination, pre/post-op instructions, insurance authorizations, EMR management, and ensuring smooth transitions across the care continuum for optimal outcomes.
Serves as the main point of contact, answering questions, addressing concerns, and relaying information between patients and providers. Schedules new and returning patients, ensuring they see the most appropriate provider, and coordinating injections, diagnostic tests, and surgeries. Tracks patient progress, arranges follow-ups, communicates with outside facilities, and manages referrals. Follow up on test results. Requests, reviews, and uploads external records (like MRIs) into the Electronic Health Record (EHR). Handles patient intake, updates records, manages authorizations, and may assist providers with procedures or post-op care. Guides patients and caregivers through the surgical process, explaining expectations for before, during, and after treatment. Completion of all required compliance and safety training. Performs special projects or other duties as assigned.
