About the role

Perform routine phlebotomy procedures and assist with clerical duties and specimen processing. Responsible for cleaning work areas, restocking inventory, and conducting waived and moderately complex testing.

  • Assist in clerical duties, processing of outpatient specimens, restocking, cleaning work areas, inventory assessment and performing testing procedures described as "waived" testing and moderately complex testing.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED, or highest level of education.
  • Preferred Bachelors or Associates of Science.
  • Reading and numerical competency.
  • Training and certification from accredited phlebotomy program preferred.
  • One year of recent phlebotomy experience or completion of MLT/Phlebotomy program.
  • ASCP (American Society of Clinical Pathologist) certified as Phlebotomist desired, but not required.
  • Ability to learn computer system and computerized lab equipment.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and exhibits skills in obtaining laboratory specimens from all age groups.
  • Must have moderate complex testing after initial training and assessment at six-months.
  • Expectation that you can perform both waived and moderate complexity testing using Point of Care devices during code blue/trauma, or as needed in other areas.
  • Must work well with people and maintain confidentiality.

Requirements

Requires a High School Diploma or GED, with a preference for a Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Science. Candidates should have phlebotomy training/certification and experience obtaining specimens from all age groups.
