The Medical Assistant provides direct patient care, including escorting patients, performing physician-required treatments, and managing the discharge process. They are also responsible for documenting clinical observations and ensuring procedures are coded correctly.
Candidates must have a High School Diploma or GED and a current CPR certification. A Medical Assistant Certification (CCMA) is preferred.
Overview The Medical Assistant (MA) delivers direct patient care in the clinical setting beginning with escorting the patient to the examination room, performing any treatments and procedures required by the physician, and ending with the discharging of the patient. He/she recognizes, reports, and documents clinical observations. He/she is responisble for coding the procedures correctly.
Education required: High School Diploma or GED License, Certification and/or registration: Current CPR Certification.
