Job Summary The Mass General Brigham Medical Group is a system-led operating entity formed by Mass General Brigham to deliver high quality, low cost, innovative community-based ambulatory care. WDH Head and Neck specialty is located at 361 High Street Somersworth, New Hampshire 03878. Our mission is providing state-of-the-art medical and surgical care for our patients with disorders of the ears, nose, and throat. Health problems associated with the head and neck can be common and happen at any age.

This role offers the opportunity to work in a busy, fast-paced environment where teamwork, flexibility, and collaboration are essential to delivering exceptional patient care. This is an exciting opportunity to work at the top of your certification while supporting a highly engaged care team. We welcome candidates from various clinical backgrounds who are eager to contribute in a dynamic setting. The role includes full-scope clinical responsibilities, with opportunities to perform phlebotomy and assist with disinfection and sterile processing. We do our best to keep all employees in their assigned practices and locations; however, you may also be asked to float to other departments in the WHP system when appropriate and needed during times of staffing shortages/other extenuating circumstances for cross-coverage purposes and to ensure adequate coverage and support. The role supports healthcare teams by assisting with both clinical and non-clinical patient services under the direction of healthcare providers. Key responsibilities include taking vital signs, documenting patient information, scheduling appointments, and managing patient flow. This role involves direct interaction with patients to ensure their comfort and address concerns, as well as collaboration with physicians, nurse practitioners, and nursing staff to facilitate efficient care. • Functions:
• Assists junior Medical Assistants with day-to-day questions and responsibilities and helps facilitate their learning by participating in onboarding training.
• Show patients to examination rooms, prepare necessary equipment for healthcare providers, and interview patients to obtain medical information, measure their vital signs, weight, and height, and record information in the patient's medical record.
• Explain treatment procedures, medications, diets, and physician instructions to patients, ordering and organizing educational materials to reinforce patient education.
• Perform general office duties, such as answering phones, taking dictation, and completing insurance forms, while acting as a liaison with other departments and advocating for patients with a positive customer service approach.
• Collect blood, tissue, or other laboratory specimens, log them, and prepare them for testing; perform phlebotomy if competence is demonstrated.
• Maintains inventory of immunizations and check expiration dates.
• Provides immunizations (as applicable) which requires certification or 3 years of experience administering a vaccine and supervision of a provider.
• Responsible for improving appropriate departmental quality initiatives, such as two patient identifiers and hand hygiene. Qualifications Education High School Diploma or Equivalent required Associate's Degree Medical Assisting preferred Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree? No Licenses and Credentials Basic Life Support [BLS Certification] - preferred Certified Medical Assistant [National Certification] - preferred Experience Direct MA experience or medical field work 1-2 years required
