The Patient Care Assistant supports the unit by performing essential patient care duties including bathing, positioning, and transporting patients. Additionally, they are responsible for stocking shelves, cleaning equipment, and assisting with dietary tasks under RN supervision.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED and a current BLS certification. CNA training and certification, as well as previous hospital secretarial or receptionist experience, are preferred.
Overview The Patient Care Assistant assists the unit in patient care duties such as cleaning/bathing patients, positioning, re-positioning and transporting patients, stocking shelves, cleaning equipment and assisting with dietary tasks. All work is performed under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN).
