Perform standardized instrument processing and decontamination to prevent the spread of infection. Maintain and test equipment while ensuring adherence to safety regulations and sterilization procedures.
Requires a High School Diploma or GED and one year of recent relevant experience. Candidates must possess knowledge of surgical tools, medical terminology, and basic human anatomy.
EDUCATION: HS Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) TYPICAL EXPERIENCE: 1-year recent relevant experience. SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE: General knowledge of surgical tools, procedures, views, and equipment. Ability to interpret a variety of data and instructions, furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Basic understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology. Well-developed time management and organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize assignments and work within standardized operating procedures and scientific methods to achieve objectives and meet deadline. General knowledge of computer applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and Outlook).
