The Radiologic Technologist is responsible for producing high-quality diagnostic images while ensuring patient safety and comfort. They also manage radiology equipment, maintain supplies, and coordinate with clinical staff for patient care.
Candidates must have a high school diploma, completion of an accredited Radiology program, and an ARRT license. A full-scope X-ray Operator license from the State of Tennessee is also required.
The Radiologic Technologist is responsible for producing high-quality diagnostic images as ordered by physicians and other healthcare providers. This role ensures patient safety and comfort throughout the imaging process, maintains radiology equipment and supplies, and supports providers and clinical staff as needed. Key Responsibilities Patient Care & Imaging Services Welcome and escort patients to the radiology suite, providing a positive and professional experience. Verify imaging orders in the EMR prior to performing examinations. Prepare and position patients for imaging procedures while ensuring comfort and safety. Explain exam procedures and provide clear instructions throughout the imaging process. Obtain high-quality diagnostic images while adhering to radiation safety standards and best practices. Process, capture, and transmit images according to established protocols. Return patients to their exam room and communicate completion of imaging studies to clinical staff. Equipment & Imaging Operations Import outside imaging studies into the PACS system. Transfer images to discs for external use when requested. Monitor radiology inventory and communicate supply needs to leadership. Ensure radiology equipment remains in optimal working condition and promptly report maintenance concerns. Perform routine equipment inspections, maintenance checks, and quality assurance activities to meet regulatory requirements. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe imaging environment after each patient encounter.
