The Laboratory Assistant is responsible for specimen intake, processing, and distribution, as well as performing phlebotomy for various patient populations. They also conduct waived or moderately complex testing and maintain laboratory equipment and inventory.

Job Summary and Responsibilities As a Lab Assistant, you will play a crucial role in solving diagnostic mysteries, bringing us one step closer to effectively treating patient illnesses and injuries.
Every day you will utilize your expertise and our advanced technology to precisely collect, prepare, and process a diverse range of patient specimens (blood, urine, tissue, etc.) for various diagnostic tests.

Moves processed samples quickly to laboratory departments for testing.
Handles Laboratory Send-out testing.
Processes, organizes, packing lists and packaging for testing sent to external laboratories according to procedures.
Uses good judgment when problem solving and requests help when needed.
Job Requirements Required:High School Graduate, upon hire orHigh School GED, upon hire andBasic Life Support - CPR (BLS-CPR), within 90 Days andExcellent customer service and time management skills, upon hire Preferred: Certificate Lab Assistant Program, upon hire or Certificate Phlebotomy program, upon hire and6 months experience in an acute care facility
Candidates must be a high school graduate or have a GED and obtain BLS-CPR certification within 90 days. A certificate in a Lab Assistant or Phlebotomy program and experience in an acute care facility are preferred.
