The Program Assistant provides physical, emotional, and spiritual care to participants through activity leadership and personal care assistance. Responsibilities also include administering medications, preparing meals, and maintaining the cleanliness of the facility.
Candidates must have a high school diploma and the ability to pass background and health screenings. A CNA certification and experience working with seniors or adults with disabilities are preferred.
High School Diploma or equivalent. Ability to pass background and health screening. Certified Nurse Aid (CNA) certification preferred. Experience working with seniors or adults with disabilities preferred. Good physical health. Able to work at a fast pace. Able to lift and transfer participants. Desire to work closely with older adults and individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities. Capable of handling emergency situations. Demonstrates sensitivity, empathy, and an interest in working our participants with physical and memory loss or impairment, and individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities. Reliable, flexible, patient, caring, and have a sense of humor. Able to work both independently and as a teammate, showing initiative and creativity. Our program is open Monday - Friday 8:00AM - 5:00PM, with rotating Saturdays. Base Pay: $15.00-16.50 per hour. Eligible for an additional $3.40/hr + through MDHHS Direct Care Worker program.
