Perform blood draws and collect, label, and process specimens for inpatient and outpatient patients. Ensure adherence to laboratory procedures, safety rules, and infection-control standards while maintaining patient privacy.
Requires a current Phlebotomy Certification and preferably at least 2 years of experience and BLS certification. Candidates must pass a VA background screening and complete required onboarding and training.
Verify patient identity before collecting specimens. Perform blood draws for inpatient and outpatient patients. Collect, label, and process specimens accurately. Assist with urine collections, blood cultures, and basic specimen processing. Follow laboratory procedures, safety rules, and infection-control standards. Maintain patient privacy and provide professional customer service. Communicate clearly with patients, nurses, and laboratory staff.
Current Phlebotomy Certification. At least 2 years of phlebotomy experience preferred. Current BLS certification preferred or ability to obtain. Experience with difficult blood draws is a plus. Must be able to pass VA background screening and complete required VA onboarding/training. Reliable, professional, and comfortable working in a healthcare setting.
