Provides unit-specific patient care while collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to coordinate care and improve patient outcomes. Ensures patient safety and regulatory compliance while supporting unit operations and nursing quality indicators.
Requires a valid Maryland RN license (or Compact state eligibility) and an Associate's degree, with a BSN preferred. Must have at least one year of RN experience and AHA BLS certification, along with unit-specific certifications like PALS, ACLS, or NRP.
Job Requirements II. Principal Responsibilities and Tasks

1. Provides care of unit-specific and/or hospital-based patient population; independently practices with solid knowledge and clinical skills; engaged in advancing own practice. Utilizes and integrates evidence into practice.
2. Accountable to patients and families for the processes and outcomes of care during an episode of care. Accountable to peers for the advancement of group practice on the unit, and to the nurse manager for the totality of work performance.
3. Collaborates with interdisciplinary team to plan and coordinate care addressing patient/family needs. Serves as clinical resource as needed.
4. Participates in implementation efforts addressing Nursing Sensitive Quality Indicators (NSQI). 5. Complies with standards and supports activities for regulatory compliance.
1. Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Maryland or eligible to practice due to Compact state agreements outlined through the MD Board of Nursing required.
2. Associate’s degree required. BSN preferred.
3. One (1) year previous RN experience required.
4. American Heart Association (AHA) BLS required upon hire.
5. Must meet all unit-specific certification requirements (PALS, ACLS, NRP).

8. Ability to demonstrate versatility and willingness to work within the PRN RN Standardized Program as set forth in assigned Unit Based or Hospital Based commitment levels.
Patient Safety Ensures patient safety in the performance of job functions and through participation in hospital, department or unit patient safety initiatives.
1. Takes action to correct observed risks to patient safety. 2. Reports adverse events and near misses to appropriate management authority. 3. Identifies possible risks in processes, procedures, devices and communicates the same to those in charge.
