Provide professional assessment, counseling, and treatment services for children and adolescents within an outpatient setting. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to manage patient progress and maintain detailed medical records in compliance with government standards.
Requires a Master's level degree in Social Work, Psychology, or Professional Counseling with current state licensure. Candidates must have one to two years of postgraduate clinical experience and specific training in the age group served.
Participates in the interviewing of persons served and assessing them through mental status as well as reviewing records obtained from other patient care staff. Selects and completes appropriate therapeutic interventions based upon clinical knowledge base and educational background (to include individual, group, family, experiential, and evidence based models). Collaborates with other treatment team members regarding patients’ progress through interdisciplinary team meetings, record review, and informal discussions. Ensures that medical record documentation protocols are complied with. Ensures that persons’ served progress notes are entered into the medical records on a timely basis and in accordance with established organizational and departmental procedures. May coordinate services and community resources as needed and assist person’s served in obtaining them. Participates regularly in departmental and staff meetings. Serves on programs or organizational committees as required and as time and workload allow. Maintains all Michigan licensure requirements. Builds knowledge of current trends and developments in treatment and counseling through the use of appropriate professional literature, medical workshops and publications. Fulfills continuing education requirements as per PRCMHS departmental policies. Participates in education and training programs for persons served, families, or community groups. May write behavior management plans for patients as part of consultation. Provides consultation to professionals, hospitals, organizations, or agencies outside of Pine Rest. Membership and involvement in local, state, and national professional organizations is encouraged. Creates a customer-friendly environment. May need to visit a person served at their home. May be required to work weekends and or evenings. May provide supervison and training to interns as assigned. May conduct research. May be required to support and promote a recovery focused environment and person-centered approach within the program. May initiate and implement clinical safety precautions and/or safety provisions. May assist in the development and initiation of safety plans during crisis situations. Responsible to uphold the healing ministry of Christ through relationships that honor integrity, stewardship, empowerment, the promotion of diversity and professional excellence. Must maintain annual training and demonstrate competency in the required programmatic training. Performs other duties or functions as assigned. Additional Responsibilities for the Lotus Department: Provides direct clinical care and clinical feedback when assisting in the program. Direct tasks of team/program members, actively participating in each task. Communicates clinical changes to program clinical team and on-call clinician. Utilize evidence-based interventions to assist with clinical care of all residents. Assistance and participation in crisis situations during times of escalation. Support and promote a recovery focused environment and person-centered approach within the program. Provide consistent leadership during crisis situations. What Does This Role Require? Education/Experience: Current state licensure in an accredited Master’s level program in Social Work, limited license Psychologist or Professional Counseling. Obtain and maintain in good standing certification commiserate with treatment provided. Trained to work in the age group of the patient being served with annual continuing age specific education and demonstrated competence. One to two years of postgraduate clinical experience.
