The Surgical Technologist collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive peri-operative care and assists surgeons in the scrub role. Responsibilities include preparing the sterile field, managing surgical instrumentation, and ensuring a safe environment for patients.
Candidates must have a high school diploma and be a graduate of an accredited surgical technologist program. CPR certification is required, while CST certification and sterile processing experience are preferred.
Minimum Education High School Diploma or GED Communication skills training (inclusive of English, written and verbal skills). (Required) And Vocational Education Graduate of a surgical technologist program. (Required)
Minimum Work Experience 0 years Graduate of a surgical technologist program or an OR training program. Experience as an Surgical Technologist preferred. (Required) 1 year Sterile Processing (Preferred)
Required Licenses and Certifications Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) (Required) Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) (Preferred)
Organizational Accountabilities Supplies Organize supplies. Count instruments, sponges, needles and other items as indicated by unit/hospital policy. Properly store and rotate sterile supplies in the O.R. and sterile processing to maintain integrity of supplies.
