What You’ll Do

• The Non-Certified Medical Assistant (MA) provides professional care through the application of clinical skills and processes to assigned patients.
• This individual provides direct care and works collaboratively with other members of the care team to achieve optimal patient care.
• This incumbent has access to confidential patient information, provides direct patient care, and functions clinically under the direct supervision of the physician.
• If working in a Scribe role this individual enters information into the Electronic Medical Record or Chart at the direction of a physician or licensed independent practitioner.
• The Scribe does not and may not act independently but documents the physician's or licensed independent practitioner's dictation and/or activities.
• This incumbent also reports to the practice manager or designee.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must successfully complete all required clinical skills evaluations in alignment with AMG requirements
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 90 days of hire
• Must obtain a nationally recognized Medical Assistant certification with one of the nationally recognized organizations listed below within 12 months of hire as a condition of continued employment.
• American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)
• American Allied Health (AAH)
• American Medical Technologists (AMT)
• National Healthcareer Association (NHA)
