Perform high-quality ultrasound scans and provide exceptional patient care in accordance with regulatory standards. Manage clinical paperwork, coordinate with radiologists on protocols, and ensure equipment is properly maintained.
Requires an Associate Degree in Radiologic Technology and certifications in RDMS (Abdomen and OB/GYN), RVT, and BLS. Candidates must be physically able to lift 50-75 lbs and stand for extended periods.
Performs ultrasound scans to produce consistently high-quality examinations in accordance with all applicable standards, regulations and licensing requirements. Provides excellent patient care. Examines orders and verifies the patient request for accuracy. Addresses any questionable orders with the Radiologist before performing the procedure(s). Operates Ultrasound equipment to make quality images of designated portions of the body under the direct order of a physician and in accordance with radiation safety procedures Completes required paperwork/orders, email order request and authorization in a timely and accurate manner. Accurately records patient medical history on designated history form. Correlates test results and other lab data with exam being performed Performs basic patient care functions and informs appropriate nursing staff if needed Operates radiology computer system Monitor supplies/stock room/equipment. Proactively initiates ordering or repairs, as needed Communicate with PACS/IT for imaging distribution if necessary Effectively communicates with Radiologist for protocols, as needed
Certifications: RDMS Abdomen and OB/GYN, RVT, BLS Education - Associate Degree/ Junior College in Radiologic Technology Ultrasound experience Must be able to perform procedures in accordance to the CR departmental protocols and standards Must be up to date with local and federal regulations that apply to their licensure and role Must be able to review the patient history for any pertinent information Must be able to communicate with the radiologist or referring MD if a protocol needs to be obtained or a test needs to be altered Must be able to report malfunctioning equipment to the Ultrasound engineer Must be able to stand/walk for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift 50-75 lbs.
