About the role

The Nurse Practitioner will collaborate with physicians to provide comprehensive cancer care in both office and hospital settings. Key duties include conducting physical exams, ordering diagnostic tests, prescribing medications, and educating patients on treatment options.

Ironwood Cancer & Research Centers is seeking Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistants (new grads and experienced) to join our multi-specialty oncology practice in the East Valley. In this role, you’ll partner closely with physicians to deliver high-quality, compassionate care while supporting patients throughout their cancer journey.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operations & Patient Care
  • Perform patient assessments, medical histories, and physical exams
  • Manage oncology and chronic conditions, including treatment side effects
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests (labs, imaging, EKGs)
  • Prescribe medications and therapies within scope
  • Collaboration & Care Delivery
  • Collaborate closely with physicians and care teams
  • Provide patient education on treatment plans and self-care
  • Support timely, coordinated patient care across clinic and hospital settings
  • Patient Experience
  • Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care
  • Develop survivorship care plans
  • Build strong relationships with patients and families

Qualifications

  • Licensed Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in Arizona through the Arizona State Board of Medical Examiners.
  • Current DEA license
  • ACLS/BLS certification
  • Oncology or related experience preferred
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced clinical environment

Requirements

Candidates must be a Registered Nurse Practitioner licensed in Arizona with current DEA and ACLS/BLS certifications. Oncology or related experience is preferred, and the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment is required.
