Collects, labels, and processes blood and other specimens while ensuring quality and adherence to guidelines. Manages laboratory equipment temperatures and prepares specimens for referral to outside laboratories.
A high school diploma or GED is preferred, along with completion of an accredited phlebotomy program. ASCP certification and one year of phlebotomy experience are preferred.
Collects, labels, logs, and processes blood and other specimens. Checks quality of samples and specimens. Assembles supplies and equipment. Monitors lab incubator/refrigerator temperatures. Prepares specimens for referral to outside laboratories.
