The Registered Nurse provides patient-centered care in an outpatient infusion setting, focusing on the safe administration of IV therapies and biologics. Responsibilities include patient assessment, monitoring for adverse reactions, and coordinating care with interdisciplinary teams.
Candidates must be a graduate of an accredited nursing school with a current Registered Nurse license in Louisiana or a compact state. BCLS certification is required upon hire or within six months, and one year of clinical experience is preferred.
The Registered Nurse (RN) provides comprehensive, patient-centered care in an outpatient infusion setting under the direction of the ordering provider. The RN is responsible for the safe administration of intravenous therapies, patient monitoring, and coordination of care to ensure high-quality clinical outcomes and a positive patient experience.

· Greet, identify, and prepare patients for infusion therapy. · Perform and document initial and ongoing assessments, including vital signs, allergies, medical history, and current medications. · Monitor patients for infusion reactions, side effects, and other complications; respond appropriately to adverse events.
· Administer ordered IV medications, biologics, blood products, and hydration therapies according to established protocols and provider orders. · Initiate, maintain, and discontinue peripheral or central venous access devices (PICC, port, midline, etc.) in accordance with nursing standards and institutional policy. · Ensure proper medication preparation, dosage verification, and labeling prior to administration.
· Provide thorough education to patients and families regarding treatment plans, potential side effects, and self-care following infusion. · Reinforce follow-up instructions and coordinate additional care or referrals as needed.
· Communicate effectively with providers and interdisciplinary team members regarding patient status, response to therapy, and any changes in condition. · Document all nursing interventions, assessments, and communications accurately and timely within the electronic medical record.
· Adhere to all infection prevention, medication safety, and hazardous drug handling standards. · Maintain infusion equipment and supplies; ensure cleanliness and readiness of infusion chairs and treatment areas. · Dispose of biohazardous materials and sharps in accordance with facility policy.
· Participate in continuing education, staff meetings, and quality improvement initiatives. · Maintain current knowledge of infusion therapy standards and best practices. · Uphold the organization’s mission, vision, and values in daily practice.
· Perform related duties as assigned to support efficient operation of the infusion center.

Required Education and Experience Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Current State of Louisiana or compact state Registered Nurse Licensure. Current BCLS certification must be available upon hire or certification must be obtained within 6 months of employment. Preferred Education and Experience At least one year of independent clinical experience preferred.
