Plans and administers medically prescribed occupational therapy to restore function and prevent disability for patients with various injuries and diseases. Coordinates with the rehabilitation team and physicians to facilitate patient discharge and maximize independence.
Requires a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy and a valid Louisiana state license or permit. BLS certification is required, and NBCOT certification is strongly preferred.
Bachelor of Science or Masters Degree in Occupational Therapy from an AOTA accredited institution required. Occupational Therapist license or permit from the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners required. Permit holders must obtain license within 90 days of hire. Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association required. NBCOT Certification strongly preferred. Working knowledge of computer software to include, but not be limited to: word processing and spreadsheets. Physical Demands: Must possess good physical health. Some requirements include but are not limited to standing, sitting or walking for long periods of time. Lifting at least 50 pounds is required.
