Perform concurrent and retrospective reviews of inpatient medical records to ensure clinical documentation is accurate and complete. Collaborate with physicians and coders to clarify documentation to reflect the true severity of illness and optimize reimbursement.
Requires an Associate's degree in nursing, a valid California RN license, and at least five years of recent acute care clinical experience. Proficiency in ICD-10-CM coding guidelines and Medicare reimbursement systems is required.
