The Ophthalmic Technician supports ophthalmologists by performing patient workups, specialized testing, and documenting examination findings. They are also responsible for educating patients on treatment plans and maintaining clinical equipment.
A high school diploma or equivalent is required along with strong communication and organizational skills. Candidates must be comfortable using computers and be able to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment.

As an Ophthalmic Technician, you'll play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and supporting our physicians throughout the patient experience.
include: Assisting ophthalmologists during patient examinations and procedures Accurately documenting examination findings, assessments, and treatment recommendations Taking and recording patient medical histories Educating patients on treatment plans, medications, and follow-up care Maintaining efficient patient flow and communication regarding appointment status Performing patient workups and specialized ophthalmic testing Administering eye medications as directed Assisting with in-office laser procedures and treatments Sterilizing instruments and maintaining ophthalmic equipment Triaging patient phone calls and coordinating care Assisting patients with contact lens insertion and removal You may also gain experience using advanced diagnostic equipment, such as: Auto Refractor Retinoscope Phoropter Slit Lamp Pentacam/Corneal Topography Wavescan IOL Master Zeiss OCT Heidelberg OCT Humphrey Visual Field Analyzer Pachymetry Tonometry Color Vision Testing Extraocular Muscle Function Testing And more
