Job Summary The Emergency Department Technician (ED Tech) supports physicians and nursing staff in providing high-quality care to patients in a fast-paced emergency room setting. This role assists with patient care, performs basic clinical procedures, and ensures the department operates efficiently while maintaining patient safety and comfort.
Key Responsibilities Assist nurses and physicians with patient care, treatments, and procedures Obtain and record vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, temperature, etc.) Perform basic clinical tasks such as EKGs, blood draws, splinting, wound care, and specimen collection (as permitted) Transport patients to and from diagnostic areas or inpatient units Monitor patient conditions and report changes to nursing staff promptly Prepare exam rooms and maintain cleanliness and organization in the ED Stock and restock medical supplies and equipment Assist in emergency situations, including CPR and trauma response Skills Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment Strong communication and teamwork skills Basic clinical and technical skills Excellent observational and problem-solving abilities
Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalency required Clinical experience in an acute care-nursing environment preferred.
Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
