Provides administrative and clinical support to the clinical pharmacogenomics program, including patient intake and case management. Responsibilities include managing patient pedigrees, processing insurance authorizations, and supporting research and grant submissions.
Requires a Bachelor's degree in genetics, biology, psychology, chemistry, or a related health/science field. Candidates must be proficient in Microsoft Office and have familiarity with electronic health records and medical terminology.
Provides basic client services: follow-up phone calls, requests for information, specimens collection and distribution, administers patient intake forms and completes family histories Provides case management assistance: completing paperwork, creates and updates patient pedigrees, calling out normal results, physician communications Processes insurance authorizations Database Management Provides support for grant submissions and research Resource for patients, family members, and associates as needed. Professional conduct including patient confidentiality, showing empathy and compassion to patients and families. Seeks out opportunities to increase knowledge and skills in area of expertise. Performs other duties as assigned. Education, Credentials, Licenses: Bachelor's degree in genetics/genetics counseling, biology, psychology, chemistry, or other health/science related field Possess the ability to work collaboratively and independently and achieve stated goals. Specialized Knowledge: Excellent communication skills -- verbal and written. Proficient in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Experience with electronic health records and/or other databases Familiarity with medical terminology or other medical office experience Familiarity with Ethical and Religious Directives for Catholic Health Care Services.
