Job Description

Johnson 2 is a 30 bed surgical adult unit. The average length of stay on J2 is 3.4 days with an average daily census of 22 patients. The majority of admissions to J2 are from the postoperative anesthesia care unit (PACU), followed by admissions from the emergency department who have an orthopedic, surgical or gastrointestinal diagnosis. There are 12 private rooms and 9 semi-private rooms that accommodate two patients each. Patient Population J2 generally accepts patients 18 years of age and older with surgical conditions. Patients cared for on J2 range in age from young adult to geriatric. Patients are generally admitted to the surgical service, or to a hospitalist with the surgeon as consultant. As a Registered Nurse (RN) for our Inpatient Team, you will be responsible for the following: Complete assessments, administer medications/treatments, observes patients progress and evaluates therapies for clinical outcomes and effectiveness Collaborate with physicians and other medical professionals to develop an optimal health care strategy plan for each patient Support and educate patients and their loves ones to achieve maximum outcomes Requirements: BSN preferred MA RN Required BLS(AHA) required Current experience on a post- operative medical surgical unit preferred Application Instructions: Applicants will only be considered for the specific job posting to which they apply. Pay Range: $37.00 - $84.71 This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement. The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. The pay range for this position is established and governed by the terms of the applicable collective bargaining agreement. Employees hired into this position will receive compensation consistent with the terms of the applicable collective bargaining agreement. Requirements

Requires a Massachusetts RN license and BLS (AHA) certification. A BSN and previous experience on a post-operative medical surgical unit are preferred.
