The Unit Secretary coordinates clerical activities and serves as the primary communication focal point for the Labor & Delivery and OB/GYN departments. All duties are performed under the supervision of a Registered Nurse to support healthcare providers and staff.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED and previous experience as a receptionist or hospital unit secretary. A current BLS certification is required, and a CNA certification is preferred.
The Unit Secretary coordinates clerical activities with leadership, staff, co-workers, departments, physician practices and other healthcare providers. The Unit Secretary is the focal point of communication for the L&D and/or OB/GYN department and performs routine duties within the limits of documented training and this job description. All work is performed under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN).
