The Chaplain Resident assesses and attends to the spiritual needs of patients, families, and employees during medical crises and transitions. They provide spiritual counseling, support bio-ethical resolutions, and represent the medical center within the broader religious community.
Candidates should possess a master's degree in theological, psychological, or sociological disciplines and have two years of active participation in a faith community. Preference is given to those with ordination and at least one unit of ACPE-accredited Clinical Pastoral Education.
St. Mary's Medical Center is currently seeking a full time Chaplain Resident.
A master’s degree in psychological, sociological and theological disciplines (Master of Divinity or its equivalent from an accredited theological institution or ordination in a recognized Jewish seminary is preferred)
Two year of active participation and membership in good standing in a recognized faith community. Ordination or commissioning by a recognized religious and spiritual organization is preferred. At least one unit of CPE from an ACPE program of CPE is preferred.
