Position Overview
The Medical Assistant is assigned to a specific floor of the facility and given tasks related to that floor. The Medical Assistant under the direction of the Team Leader and/or Nurse Manager, utilizes the computer to enter and retrieve data from RESource, Quest computer and email. Communicates care rendered, provides assistance to physicians and clinical staff in order that patient care is accommodated, stock is maintained, and the environment is maintained in a clean, orderly manner.
Duties and Responsibilities
Assist in morning monitoring (blood drawing, chaperoning, RESource data input)
Setting up and assisting in retrievals, including pre-op vital signs.
Setting up and assisting in transfers, including giving discharge instructions.
Cleaning rooms (procedure and dressing room) after procedures. (Empty garbage bins during day if needed, otherwise at end of day place outside of procedure rooms).
Clean and sterilize equipment, soak ultrasound probe.
Restock procedure rooms, dressing room and pt. bathroom as needed, give weekly list to Team Leader or designee by Thursday of what needs to be ordered. (Must verbally tell her if something is needed immediately).
Laundry, place by backdoor end of day on Monday. Unpack and distribute laundry when it arrives.
