The Nurse Technician assists nursing staff with direct patient care, including cleaning, feeding, and preparing patients for treatment. They are also responsible for recording vital signs and managing treatment supplies and bed linens.
Candidates must have a high school diploma and be currently enrolled in an accredited RN program with completion of the first semester. A Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and strong communication skills are required.
The Nurse Technician is a student RN working under the direct supervision of an RN assisting the nursing staff with patient care. Nurse Technicians performs various patient care activities necessary in caring for the personal needs and comfort of patients. The Nurse Technician assists with patient cleaning, feeding, and preparation for treatment, takes and records vital signs, changes bed linen, prepares treatment trays and other supplies, and assists nursing service personnel with a variety of other patient care duties.
