Hours

  • (shift varies), 40 hours per week | No Supervisory Responsibilities | No Travel |
  • Pay commensurate with experience FT: Mountain Family Care Center.

Job summary

Provide general and preventative care, conduct check-ups, treat illnesses, order lab tests and prescribe medication for children and adults.

Minimum job qualifications

Education

Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner Program.

Experience

  • Previous experience rural health experience preferred.
  • License/Certifications: Certified with National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants, Initial Certification and meet the regulations of NC Board of Medical Examiners, OR Nurse Practitioner meeting regulations of North Carolina Board of Nursing. Current BLS Certification.

Essential functions

Makes decisions reflecting knowledge of facts, knowledge of diseases/surgical conditions, care required and good judgment.

Ability to perform a head to toe preoperative assessment on all patients and reassesses as needed.

This includes pediatric, geriatric and the general patient population.

Ability to formulate an individualized plan of care as indicated and evaluates for effectiveness.

Makes appropriate explanation to patients regarding procedures.

Monitors patient and physician satisfaction and follows through on needs identified through the monitoring process.

Maintains current basic medical knowledge.

Demonstrates competence and skill in the in the application of knowledge.

Performance of History and Physical exam proficiently.

Record review will show 95% or higher compliance with documentation proficiency.

Record keeping is accurate, complete and timely.

Keeps Rural Health Clinic Medical Director informed of unusual occurrences.

Demonstrates the knowledge and skills to provide care appropriate to the age and gender.

Treats patients and their families with respect and dignity.

Abide by policies and procedures of AMH.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Must be willing to receive all required vaccinations (i.e., flu shot, etc.). All new employees working must be fully vaccinated as a condition of employment (unless the new hire has requested and received an exemption). Candidates for employment will be notified of this policy requirement prior to the start of employment. After receiving an offer of employment, new employees must provide proof of vaccination or request and receive an exemption before beginning work.

Requirements
