The Unit Therapist provides counseling sessions for individuals, families, and groups while developing psychological histories and treatment objectives. They serve as the primary advocate for patients and coordinate with community resources for effective discharge planning.
A Master's degree in social work, mental health counseling, or a related field is required, along with one year of direct clinical experience in psychiatric therapy. A current Florida state license (e.g., LCSW, LMFT, LMHC) is preferred.

The Unit Therapist is responsible for conducting therapeutic services for patients. They provide counseling sessions for families, individuals and groups. Unit Therapists are responsible for interviewing and developing the psychological history, assessing the therapeutic needs of the individual and family, developing appropriate treatment objectives and monthly treatment summaries. Unit Therapists act as the patients’ and families’ primary contact during the patient’s stay at the facility, as well as their advocate with the treatment team.
