Assist rehab therapists and nurses with patient mobilization, personal care, and the setup of adaptive equipment. Provide administrative support including scheduling, phone triage, and maintaining department cleanliness.
Overview At the direction of the Director, supervisor, and/or under the guidance of a Rehab therapist or registered nurse: assist in or provide mobilization of patients; assist with personal care of patients; prepares equipment used to mobilize or treat patients; answers call bells of patients; provides administrative assistance and duties specific to the clinical care department.
Prepare and position patients for treatment. Assists the Rehab therapists during and after treatment. Answers patient call bells Assists nursing staff with personal care of patients. Assists with ambulation and exercise plan at the direction of the treating therapists or registered nurse. Obtains supplies, sets-up and adjusts adaptive equipment, and prepares treatment modalities. Assists with transfers and mechanical lifting of debilitated patients. Assists in transporting patients to and from the gym or ancillary departments. Maintains cleanliness of equipment and orderliness of department. Performs daily equipment sweep on inpatient units. Assists with scheduling patients for therapy. Provides clerk duties including answering Rehab phones, triaging messages for the therapists, data collection and entry, assist therapists in gym, ensures needed supplies are ordered. Performs other duties as required or assigned.
Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and BLS certification within 30 days of hire. Previous experience in a medical setting is preferred.
