The Monitor Technician performs clerical duties and assists clinical personnel while monitoring cardiac rhythms. They are responsible for notifying nursing staff of critical EKG results and ensuring patient safety within the ICU.
Candidates must have completed a basic arrhythmia or 12-lead ECG course or possess equivalent work experience. BCLS or ACLS certification from the American Heart Association is required.
The Monitor Technician works cooperatively with all members of the health care team in performing clerical and receptionist duties and assists clinical personnel with nonclinical duties.

Recognizes basic cardiac rhythms including EKG changes of acute MI, V TACH, V Fib or heart block and provides intervention as indicated.
