SUMMARY: The Lab Technician under the supervision of the Clinical Laboratory Technical Supervisor will coordinate and perform multifaceted administrative, clinical, and clerical functions. The incumbent maintains a pleasant, courteous, and cooperative manner with patients, visitors, and the Center's personnel. This position is responsible for maintaining a comprehensive inventory of clerical and clinical supplies to ensure efficient and effective operations.
Laboratory:
LABORATORY: Make sure all lab results are in the electronic medical records. Perform routine lab procedures such as but not limited to HbA1c, Urine, Strep A, Glucose, Urine Dip, Urine HCG, PT/INR, etc. Perform phlebotomy on children, adults, and older populations. Perform and document quality controls/quality assurance/maintenance. Monitor inventory levels and reorder supplies as needed. Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment. Responsible for specimen processing, test performance, and reporting test results. Notify the provider of pertinent results. Maintain proper records and ensure that results are available in a timely manner. Assist in reconciling initial training, bi-annual training, annual training, follow-up training, and competencies according to CLIA regulations or based on PI, QA, or operation findings. May fill-in site locations for other lab personnel when necessary. Maintain CEU’s as required by the laboratory field. Participate in in-house training sessions.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. As the lab technician, you will work with multiple providers, centers, and senior staffing to process samples, perform tests, record and analyze results and challenges. 2. Answer telephone and give information to callers, screen calls, and route calls to the appropriate destination in a courteous, professional, and efficient manner. Obtain and record the caller's name, time of call, nature of the business, and person called upon. 3. May assist providers and clients with reconciling billing information deficiencies. 4. Able to express interpersonal teaching skills with excellent verbal and written communication. 5. Assist in laboratory equipment maintenance and troubleshooting. 7. Assist in ensuring proficiency testing is ordered, performed, and documented according to regulations. Must have keyboard experience and have a knowledge of electronic medical records. Possess a higher level of proficiency in the operation of lab equipment.
