Responsible for performing diagnostic radiographic exams and evaluating images for technical quality. The role involves preparing patients, administering contrast media, and maintaining radiology equipment.
Requires an Associate's degree in Radiologic Technology and ARRT registration. Must hold a current AHA Healthcare Provider BCLS certification.
Required Education and Experience Associate’s degree from an accredited school of Radiologic Technology and registered with American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Current, valid AHA Healthcare Provider training (BCLS). Demonstrated ability to perform radiographic procedures in accordance with the policies and protocols in effect (assessed within 90 days of hire). Familiarity with the technology related to practice in the assigned functional sections.
Summary/Objective The Radiologic Technologist position is responsible for conducting radiographic procedures using imaging modalities.
This job operates in a healthcare setting. This role requires regular walking to various locations around the hospital. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes, or airborne particles and some mechanical equipment. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of patient conditions and elements. The noise level is moderate to quiet. Frequent exposures to destressed patients, families, and visitors. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position requires standing, pushing, pulling, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift or move objects and patients weighing over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Working in dim lighting environment required.
This is a PRN, as needed, position in a health care facility open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Rotating shifts as well as holidays and weekends are required. Working during inclement weather will be required. Shifts may vary, but working hours may be up to approximately 12 hours. Return time to the facility is 30 minutes (certain positions may be exempt).
As PRN, this position requires working at least two shifts per month and provide shift availability.
No travel is expected for this position.
