The Psychiatrist is responsible for diagnosing and treating various mental health conditions through psychotherapy, medication management, and hospitalization. They collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop individualized treatment plans and ensure the medical stability of patients.
A Doctoral degree in Medicine (MD or DO) and a state license are required, with a preference for one or more years of postgraduate practice. Candidates must hold board certification in psychiatry and current DEA credentials to prescribe controlled substances.
Responsible for the diagnosis and treatment of mental illnesses through a combination of personal counseling (psychotherapy), psychoanalysis, hospitalization and/or medication.
