Assist surgeons in multidisciplinary GI procedures and manage the assembly and sterilization of necessary equipment. Ensure efficient room turnovers and maintain the availability of supplies to prevent procedural delays.
Requires a high school diploma or GED and prefers an SGNA recognized Endoscopy Certification. Candidates should ideally have 2 years of GI or ASC experience and the physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Washington Outpatient Surgery Center, LLC (WOSC) is a multi-specialty center, with five operating rooms and two procedure rooms, that operates Monday through Friday. WOSC has been offering its patients advanced surgical services in a convenient, comfortable setting since April 1986. We're looking for an experienced professional who can work quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment and provide our patients with the care and support they need prior to their procedure. The position's duties are highly variable, so the successful candidate must be willing to change direction at a moment's notice and keep pace with the other professionals on staff.
Assist surgeons in multidisciplinary procedures Assemble supplies and equipment for scheduled GI procedures Aid in room turnovers, patient positioning, and preparing for following day cases Inspect equipment and instruments for proper working condition Maintain availability of instruments and supplies to avoid delays Correctly use, care for, and sterilize instruments, supplies, and equipment as directed Extensive ability to troubleshoot equipment issues related to applicable procedures Assist in storing and stocking supplies in the procedure rooms
Required Education: High school diploma or GED Certification Endoscopy Certification SGNA recognized preferred

GI or ASC experience, 2 years preferred Familiarity with procedural instruments and equipment Ability to sit/stand for long periods; ability to lift 25-50 lbs. Strong ethical and moral character references Ability to communicate effectively and promote favorable facility image with physicians, patients, and general public Ability to be punctual, make decisions, and solve problems
