Requires a Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a related life science field. At least one year of relevant laboratory experience is required, with ASCP certification preferred.
The Molecular Genetics Technologist I conducts high-complexity molecular testing for genetic diseases, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and laboratory protocols. Working under direct supervision, this entry-level role performs routine laboratory assays with accuracy and consistency, supports operational continuity within assigned workflows, performs quality control and routine maintenance activities, and promptly escalates non-routine results, deviations, or operational issues to senior staff or supervisors.
