Description Good News Home provides trauma-informed, faith-centered residential treatment and recovery support for women overcoming substance use and co-occurring mental health challenges. Our team is committed to compassion, accountability, and empowering women to rebuild their lives with dignity and hope.

We are seeking a dedicated Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS) / Case Manager to join our clinical and recovery support team. This role provides direct peer support and case management services to women in both our Residential Treatment Facility and our Sober Living Home, The Butterfly House.

Position Summary

The Certified Peer Recovery Specialist / Case Manager provides recovery-oriented support services through lived experience, motivational engagement, and strengths-based case management. This position supports women across two program settings—the Residential Treatment Center and The Butterfly House—ensuring continuity of care as clients transition through different stages of recovery.

The role includes assessing client needs, coordinating essential services, supporting discharge planning, and ensuring that all services align with treatment goals and Good News Home's holistic recovery model. The CPRS/Case Manager must be able to share personal recovery experiences appropriately and develop authentic, supportive peer-to-peer relationships.

Key Responsibilities Provide one-on-one peer support, mentorship, and recovery coaching to clients in both the Residential Treatment Facility and The Butterfly House.

Conduct initial and ongoing assessments of each client’s family, legal, financial, educational, vocational, and recovery needs.

Assist clients in developing individualized recovery plans and long-term goals, identifying strengths and areas for growth.

Facilitate recovery-focused groups, workshops, and peer-led activities across both program locations.

Support clients in appointments (medical, legal, housing, etc.) and advocate on their behalf when appropriate.

Coordinate essential services and ensure timely delivery of supports outlined in the treatment plan.

Transport clients between program locations, appointments, and community resources using company vehicles.

Both program sites are located in the same town and are only minutes apart.

Maintain complete, accurate documentation in Electronic Health Records (EHR) and NJSAMS.

Read daily logs and integrate relevant information into client interactions and support strategies.

Provide recovery education across all phases: pre-recovery engagement, initiation, stabilization, and sustained recovery maintenance.

Maintain contact with clients after discharge to support long-term recovery and re-engagement if needed.

Collaborate with clinical staff, nursing, and residential leadership to support integrated care and treatment planning.

Uphold confidentiality standards, including HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2.

Model healthy recovery behaviors, boundaries, and professionalism at all times.

Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.

Requirements

Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS) credential required (New Jersey). Minimum 2 years of sustained recovery from substance use disorder. Experience working in residential treatment, behavioral health, or recovery support preferred. Knowledge of NJSAMS and Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems. Strong assessment, evaluation, and case management skills. Excellent communication skills with clients, staff, and external partners. Ability to work independently, stay organized, and manage multiple priorities. Valid driver’s license with clean driving record; ability to transport clients as needed. Demonstrated commitment to the recovery community and trauma-informed practices. Schedule & Work Environment Full-time, on-site position Includes some evening or weekend hours as needed Works across both the Residential Treatment Center and The Butterfly House
